Browser Display Issue Affecting WebCTRL
Description
WebCTRL may experience a browser-related display issue in which the main UI window becomes grayed out and unresponsive. When this occurs, users must refresh the browser page to continue navigating within the interface.
This issue has most commonly been reported when opening smaller pop-up windows within the WebCTRL UI, including:
- Configure Page
- Driver Properties
- System Menu
- System Options Page
- Scheduling
- Manual Backup
- Add-on Installation
- Other dialog or configuration windows
After the dialog window is closed, a gray overlay may remain on the screen, preventing further interaction with the application until the browser page is refreshed.
Affected Browsers
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
Recommended Workaround
Until a permanent resolution is released, Mozilla Firefox is the recommended browser for accessing WebCTRL. Testing has shown that Firefox does not exhibit this behavior and provides stable operation when opening configuration and system dialog windows.
If Chrome or Edge must be used, refreshing the browser page may restore normal operation when the issue occurs.
Resolution
Automated Logic is actively developing software updates to address this issue in WebCTRL versions 8.5, 9.0, and 10.0.
Customers running versions earlier than WebCTRL 8.5 will need to upgrade to resolve this issue.
Additional information will be provided as updates become available.
